Indore: The district administration has begun the process of granting land ownership rights to residents of 29 villages that now fall within the municipal corporation boundaries. In 2014, the Indore district extended the municipal corporation's limits to include these 29 villages. The residents occupying residential land in these villages, or their heirs/transferees without a lease, are eligible to apply for a lease to secure land holding rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, during a recent meeting in Indore, issued directives regarding this matter. Presently, landowners in these 29 villages within the municipal limits encounter difficulties in selling their homes or obtaining loans for house construction due to the absence of registration, lease, or other necessary documents. Those in this situation can apply for land holding rights in accordance with the circular released by the Revenue Department on September 24, 2020. They will be granted a 30-year lease, allowing them to easily obtain loans and sell or transfer their property as needed. Camps will be held on September 29, 2024, at tehsil offices in Juni Indore, Malharganj, Rau, Bicholi Hapsi, and Kanadia for receiving applications. Eligible applicants will be provided with leases under land holding rights following a verification process. SDM Rau Vinod Rathore stated, "Online lease applications will be accepted at the camps. Applicants must bring necessary documents, including an electricity bill, water supply bill, official correspondence/documents related to the property, the address as per the 2011 census, property tax receipt from the local authority, and address listed in the voter list."
